Directional guideline telemarketing scripts, book excerpt by Devin Bull

Directional guideline scripts are probably the most common and most popular
phone scripts in use today by telemarketers.  Rather than using a verbatim
script which requires word for word participation, the telemarketer uses a
structured guideline which contains key points and key phrases organized in
a step-by-step pattern that allows the telemarketer to control the direction
of the conversation, and hopefully lead the prospect to the desired result,
namely a sale or, in the case of an entrepreneur marketing his services, a
personal appointment.
