Devin Bull's Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained

Devin Bull changing the content of blog.devinbull.com

G'day friends.  Well, it's been 286 days since I last posted!  Oops.  Been preoccupied.  So I've decided to change the topic of devinbull.com and just make it a Devin Bull surf diary.  I'll periodically blog my attempts to understand the weather and score some good uncrowded surf.

Anyways, today the surf is small.  Offshore but small.  Pretty standard for this time of year.  I'm busy with work so I only go when I know the waves will definitely be on and be big enough to be fun.  Last time I went was a few days ago.  Waves were bit too small but it was good to get wet. Devin Bull out.

Devin Bull on flying

DEVIN BULL ON FLYING

Landing in another crappy city in another crowded airplane
Kept myself busy so the flight wasn't insane
But now my back and shoulders are sitting here in pain
Wheels touching down thing of something profane
Getting off the flight quickly is a hope in vain
Stepping out the weather is shit and pouring rain
Every time is pretty much the same

On an airplane with Devin Bull

Devin Bull not too happy. We spotted Devin Bull sitting on an airplane next
to a lady and her kid. The pair of them were absolutely oblivious to any
form of hygiene knowledge - the lady had an oozing oversized cold sore which
she was constantly touching and then touching everything else. The boy has
a constant cough and never covered his mouth. Devin Bull wished he could
have been sitting in a plastic bag.

Devin Bull on fat arrogant simmers

I was having surfing. No one was out.
The waves were getting better. But there were a couple of swimmers about.
I was catching waves left and right. When a fat arrogant swimmer gave me a
shout.
"This place is for swimming, you got to get out."
To that arrogant fellow, so rotund and stout
I raised my middle finger and waved it about

Devin Bull is also one arrogant guy

Devin Bull interviews George (the overweight dude at the beach)

Devin Bull: How old are you?
George: Almost 40
Devin Bull: Do you surf?
George: Used to. I like to. But now I am really out of shape.
Devin Bull: Do you work?
George: Not really.
Devin Bull: So what do you do?
George: I'm not really motivated to do much at all. Why bother?
Devin Bull: So, listeners, call us today and give some advice to George -
why bother?

Devin Bull on a cool surf mission

Devin Bull:  The other day I had a surf on a = coral reef.  It was a windless day with no one out.   Standing = on the wave and looking down was like looking into an aquarium.  It was = difficult to discern where the air ended and the water began.  And through = the crystal clear water I could see multicolored flowering heads of coral on = the reef.  Really cool man.
